aside, why is channel 5 news' slogan, "straight to the point"? what the hell else do they expect their viewer want? a rambling, incoherent story that circles the main issues, but doesn't necessarily address them directly? saying your news programs gets "straight to the point" is like maytag saying its new line of washing machines starts washing right away. no shit; its a washing machine. the expectation is inherent and implicit. a slogan that boasts what you should be doing anyway is no slogan. and its certainly not something boast-worthy.
i already think that most news anchors are some of the dumbest people on earth, but this seems to confirm that their marketing/branding people aren't the sharpest tacks in the box, either.
something like, "news 5: intelligent, informed, in depth." would work so much better. but after watching just one or two broadcasts, everyone would see right through it.
I find Glee very entertaining and I'm becoming obsessed with the music from it. I think this is the best "full cast" song so far, narrowly edging out Don't Stop Believin'.
